Mr. Posani Pattabhi Rama Rao is the Chairman and Managing Director of Bhaskar Agro Chemicals Limited and the founding force behind the company’s journey. With more than Five decades of experience in the agrochemical industry, he stands among the most respected veterans of the sector in India – a leader whose career has mirrored, and helped shape, the evolution of crop protection in the country.
Associated with the company since its very inception, Mr. Rao built the enterprise from its earliest days into an established manufacturer of agrochemical formulations serving farmers and partner companies across India and international markets. Under his vision, Bhaskar Agro Chemicals grew from a modest beginning into a trusted name in insecticides, fungicides, herbicides, fertilizers, and micronutrients, formulating products for reputed Indian and multinational companies.
His leadership has been defined by an unwavering commitment to quality, deep technical knowledge of the industry, and an enduring belief in serving the farming community with reliable, effective, and affordably priced products. Over fifty years, he has guided the company through every stage of its growth – from its founding through large-scale modernisation to its standing today as a listed public company – while nurturing the values, relationships, and institutional strength that continue to anchor the business.

Praveen Kumar Posani serves as Joint Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer of Bhaskar Agro Chemicals Limited, where he combines executive leadership with financial stewardship of the company’s operations across India and its export markets.
A Chemical Engineer with an MBA, Praveen brings a rare blend of technical depth and commercial acumen to the agrochemicals business. He holds a B.Tech in Chemical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration, and has built a multi-disciplinary career spanning Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Information Technology, and Finance.
Prior to joining Bhaskar Agro Chemicals, he held key positions at leading Indian and multinational organisations including Infosys Technologies Limited, Essar Information Technology, and Emergent Genetics, gaining deep exposure to large-scale enterprise systems, supply chain and logistics operations, and the intersection of technology and agribusiness. This breadth of experience continues to inform his approach to managing complex operations and driving efficiency across the company’s value chain.
With 24 years of professional experience – including 14 years with Bhaskar Agro Chemicals — he has played a central role in shaping the company’s growth trajectory, strengthening its financial foundation, and driving performance across its regional sales operations in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka.
As Joint Managing Director and CFO, his focus spans profitable revenue growth, financial discipline, supply chain efficiency, and execution excellence – ensuring Bhaskar Agro Chemicals continues to serve farming communities and partner brands with high-quality formulations while building long-term value for its stakeholders.
